Generally our designs are very much identifiable as Davis and Davis yet our hand knotted construction is a departure from the Davis look. Elegant and refined, these gems are heirloom level. Made of Himalayan wool and mulberry silk (real silk) they are unquestionably the finest area rugs available. There is a hidden treasure in our Abrash section of Rug Designer.

Abrash refers to an intentional or “on purpose" unevenness in the dying of the Himalayan wool. When knotted horizontally into the rug it creates a beautiful tonal striated area of color. The look has been a desirable element in the hand knotted arena for many generations of Tibetan rug makers.
So in Rug Designer you can specify any color to have an abrash finish. Much like specifying silk or other textures. You pick a color and the rug maker creates the multi tonal version of that color as they hand knot the uneven yarn. The area of that color slowly becomes a horizontal texture full of shaded tones of the color. You may choose to abrash one color or all the rug colors. Or one color abrash and another color clear. Or maybe silk for a shimmering effect. (Remember abrash is available in the cut pile wool only.) it’s Up to you and your creative process.also please feel free to take any design from our total library and make it hand knotted.
